In 2012 Randi Peters from Natural Horse Magazine (NHM) contacted me and asked if I would write an article on the dangers of feeding horses genetically modified (GMO) foodstuffs. She had already read an informative article I published on soulfulequine.com titled, Are You Feeding Your Horse These 4 “Healthy” – Yet Dangerous – Foods?
We ended up slightly modifying that very article and published it in Natural Horse Magazine. This was the first article of mine that was published in an equine magazine and I was honored that Randi contacted me.
Natural Horse Magazine has been educating about this subject since before more people even knew what a genetically modified organism was. I tip my hat to them because they’ve lead the way in this area of educating horse guardians for so long!
Since writing that article, I’ve kept the resources on GMOs somewhat current. There has been a lot of change on this subject in the last few years. I would like to encourage you to visit that page and check out each resource – especially if you’re on the fence regarding this subject.
