Be careful what you wish for… during the summer of 2003 Stephanie said to Sharon, “I sure would like a barn cat”. Lo and behold, Tigger wandered up about 4 days later. It sure didn’t take long for that wish to manifest. Tigger is a beautiful tabby cat. She looks a lot like a tiger with tiger stripes. She has some beautiful orange on her chest and is as soft as any cat you will ever hold.
When you hold Tigger, she radiates this energy that is both strong and smart. She loves Stephanie and took to her very quickly. When Tigger arrived she was about six months old. She ended up sticking around, so when Stephanie tells this story she say’s that Tigger chose her not the other way around.
Tigger is a great hunter. Her nickname is The Mighty Mouse Hunter. She started to become an indoor cat at night due to how bad the coyotes are out where she lives. During the days she hunts in the pasture and out at the barn. Lately she has been choosing to stay in the house more, especially when the weather is not good for hunting.
Her favorite food is raw chicken wings and not just any raw chicken wings. The wings must come from a free-range chicken raised without hormones and antibiotics or she will not eat it. There have been times where a trip to Whole Foods had to be put off and some “regular” store bought wings were purchased. Tigger took one bite and would not eat the rest. All that can be said to that is, how interesting. Needless to say, the right kind of chicken wings are always in full stock around the house.
