Benny was born in 1995. He and his sister Joon were rescues and up for adoption at a local pet store when Sharon wandered in. They were just kittens. Sharon fell in love with little Benny and little Joon.
Joon passed away in May 2009 (go to our In Loving Memory page to see a picture of Joon). Her brother, Benny, acts more like a dog than a cat, following Sharon everywhere and trying to climb up her leg every time she pauses for more than a second or two. He constantly reminds Sharon that he’s “a lover not a fighter.”
Benny has many talents, but the one that keeps house guests on their toes is his ability to open doors. He learned many years ago that if the door knob is L shaped that he can just pull down on it and the door will often pop open. Another talent he had was his ability to stick his nose WAY DOWN DEEP into Sharon’s little dog, Idgie’s, ear and sniff. This drove Idgie absolutely crazy… and not in a good way. Unfortunately Benny’s buddy, Idgie, passed away in 2010. You can read about her and watch Sharon’s memorial video of her here.
